Imagine a whisper quiet electric boat that is wide and stable, glides effortlessly through the water, and is a joy to ride.
Wateriders is pleased to introduce the Kayacht to Chicago: the world’s first electric kayak, now available at our Kingsbury Riverwalk location, right on the Chicago River.
The Kayacht Touring 130 VERY comfortably seats two adults with a child, and offers a terrific kayaking experience — all without paddling!
We offer:
• A 90 minute self guided electric kayak picnic tour of Chicago
Your Chicago Kayacht Tour begins with instruction in steering the boat as well as safe operations.
Then, we give each pair of adult Kayachters our custom designed picture card which shows a number of key buildings and points on the Chicago River.
Our self guided Chicago River tour is fun, informative, and, we hope, funny. (Of course, one adult Kayachter will be in charge of steering, so, the other adult must read the card aloud — we cannot offer the card to single Kayachters or single adults with a child).
• Use of the Kayacht 130 on any of our guided Chicago River kayak tours
This includes our Fireworks Paddle and Classic and Ghosts & Gangsters Chicago River tours. The cost to use the Kayacht for two is a $15 per person premium over our tour prices, or $25 per person for coupon holders.

Wateriders is always happy to demo the Kayacht for interested Chicago Kayakers, so that you can enjoy the Kayacht experience and decide if a Kayacht is right for you.

Since 1997, Wateriders has offered instruction and sales of Alden Rowing Shells.
Created by battleship designer Arthur Martin, Alden has earned its place as the world’s finest manufacturer of open water rowing shells.
Sculling (sliding seat rowing) offers an all body workout that can be enjoyed by all ages. Rowing is more challenging to learn than kayaking, yet anyone with the desire can learn to row and enjoy the open water rowing experience on virtually any body of water.
Unlike racing shells, which can be quite tippy, Alden Star open water shells provide a sculling experience with much less danger of capsizing — especially for the less experienced.
The family of Alden boats offers singles and doubles and can be used for exercise, moving meditation and camping.
